If you have any doubts about the health and safety of the animal you are taking care of, contact the owner. If you are unable to contact the owner of the animal, contact the owner's vet or the nearest open vet as soon as possible.
We hope it never happens on your watch, but should an emergency arise, such as an injured, sick, or lost pet, call Rover's Trust & Safety team at +39 02 9475 6959 to report it immediately so we can help resolve it as quickly as possible. Please leave a voicemail, and our Trust & Safety team will contact you as soon as possible.
Our business hours are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish. For other official languages supported on our platform, we will reply via email. Requests submitted outside these hours will be addressed the following business day.
Rover also offers the following services in case of emergency:
- The Rover Guarantee: Rest assured, every stay is backed by the Rover Guarantee for eligible vet care. Learn more about what's covered under the Guarantee here.
- Sitter Resources: Discover posts covering how to prevent pet escapes, read pet body language, and much more here.
Tip: Whether you’re a pet owner or a sitter, you can help prevent some situations from becoming emergencies by having on hand the most up-to-date records of your pet’s or the pet owner pet's medical history, immunizations, diet, and special needs. Your Meet & Greet before the booking is a good time to discuss this information.
